Jeu “Catch me if you can*”

Afin de favoriser les rencontres entre Américains et Français lors de la garden-party du 29 juin, les associations “Alsace Etats-Unis et “Americans in Alsace” proposent cette année un jeu, dont le Grand Prix est un repas pour 4 personnes au restaurant La Maison des Tanneurs.
Principe du jeu :
1) La durée du jeu est limitée à 1 heure : de 17h30 à 18h30.
2) La participation est limitée à 50 Américains et 50 Français, sur la base du « Premier arrivé, premier servi ».
3) En arrivant, les personnes intéressées à participer se rendent au stand “Alsace Etats-Unis”
4) Elles reçoivent une étiquette avec le drapeau français et un numéro entre 1 et 50, et y inscrivent leur prénom et nom.
5) Chaque participant doit ensuite chercher son equivalent américain, c’est-à-dire qui porte le même numéro que lui, mais avec un drapeau américain.
6) Une fois que le binôme s’est trouvé, chacun se présente à l’autre (nom, profession, hobbies, etc…).
7) Ils se rendent ensemble au stand “Alsace Etats-Unis” pour valider leur rencontre : chacun présente brièvement l’autre aux responsables du jeu.
8) Le binôme est enregistré sur une liste.
9) Chaque membre du binôme reçoit une fleur blanche en soie à fixer en boutonnière sur son vêtement.
10) Tous les binômes qui se seront présentés au stand sont éligibles pour tenter de gagner le Grand Prix. A cette fin, ils remplissent un bulletin commun.
Le tirage au sort sera fait au micro et le Grand Prix remis au binôme gagnant par François Lenhardt, patron du restaurant La Maison des Tanneurs.
“Catch me if you can” game
In order to encourage American-French networking at the garden-party of June 29, the associations “Alsace Etats-Unis” and “Americans in Alsace” organize a game this year. The Grand Prize is a meal for 4 people at the restaurant La Maison des Tanneurs.
Principle of the game :
1) The duration of the game is limited to 1 hour : from 5.30 to 6.30 pm.
2) The participation is limited to 50 Americans and 50 French, on a “first come, first served basis”.
3) Upon arrival, the people interested in taking part go to the “Alsace Etats-Unis” tent.
4) They receive a sticker, on which the American flag is printed, as well as a number between 1 and 50. They write their first and family name on the sticker.
5) The participant then has to look for his French counterpart, i.e. that wears the same number as himself, but with the French flag.
6) Once they have found each other, they introduce themselves to one another (name, job, hobbies, etc…).
7) They go to the Alsace Etats-Unis tent together to validate their encounter : each briefly introduces his counterpart to the volunteers at the desk.
8) Their pair is registered on a list.
9) Each member of the pair receives a white silk flower to stick to his dress/jacket.
10) All pairs that have validated their encounter are eligible to win the Grand Prize. Therefore they fill out a common ballot paper.
The drawing of lots will be made at the microphone and the Grand Prize will be handed to the winning pair by François Lenhardt, owner of the restaurant La Maison des Tanneurs.
